For the most accurate result, close streaming apps and other tabs before testing. Wired connections beat Wi-Fi every time.

The Spectrum speed test measures your real Spectrum internet speed: download, upload and ping. It runs in your browser and is independent of Spectrum, so you can check if your line performs the way your plan says.

Key Features

Check Your Spectrum Plan

Compare your result with your tier (100, 300, 500 or 1000 Mbps) and see if it matches.

Independent Test

Provider tests tend to read high. This one shows how your connection looks to the rest of the internet.

Download, Upload and Ping

One test, three numbers. Enough to judge streaming, calls and gaming.

Find the Real Problem

Wired vs Wi-Fi results help you tell if the issue is the line, modem or Wi-Fi.

Answers

FAQs - Spectrum Speed Test

Why is my Spectrum internet slower than advertised?
Evening congestion, an old modem, long coax runs with splitters and weak Wi-Fi are the usual causes. A wired test at the modem shows the line's real speed.
Does Spectrum throttle my speed?
Spectrum does not throttle specific activities. But cable is shared with neighbors, so speeds can dip at peak times. That is congestion, not throttling.
What upload speed does Spectrum give?
On cable plans, uploads are usually 10-35 Mbps, far below the download speed. Fiber addresses can get matching upload and download.
